What is a Breast Lift with Augmentation?
For many women, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and aging can cause the breasts to lose shape and become droopy or uneven in size or shape. A breast lift combined with a breast augmentation is a common procedure done to restore the size, shape, and positioning of the breasts for a more youthful breast appearance.
Who is a Candidate?
Women who feel as if they have lost the fullness of their breasts during pregnancy or after weight loss and are now experiencing sagging breasts, loss of shape and volume, stretch marks on the breasts, or asymmetry of the breasts may be able to benefit from a breast lift with augmentation. The best way to determine if this procedure can help you meet your cosmetic goals is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Sweat.
The breast lift with augmentation procedure will involve performing a breast augmentation with implants and a breast lift at the same time. The breast implants are usually placed beneath the chest muscles and the breast lift is then performed. When a breast augmentation and lift and performed together, a more youthful, lifted, natural-looking breast contour is created. Downtime for breast lift with augmentation is no more than if either procedure was performed alone. Swelling and soreness will occur for a week or two after surgery and after about six weeks patients may resume all normal activities. Pain medication can help control discomfort. A soft cotton sports bra should be worn to diminish swelling and support the breasts during healing. Dr. Sweat will provide you with specific post-op instructions to ensure optimal results.
