What is Penis Enlargement?
Penis enlargement, or phalloplasty, is a procedure that can increase the girth of the penis. This procedure can help to increase non-erect (flaccid) length by slightly more than an inch to give men improved self-assurance and a sense of well-being.
Who is a Candidate?
Men who feel that their penis is small for their body size, or who have been diagnosed with having a micropenis or Peyronie’s disease may be able to benefit from this procedure. Ideal candidates will be healthy, nonsmokers with a positive outlook for the results of their procedure. A consultation with Dr. Sweat can help to determine if this procedure is right for you.
During the penis enlargement procedure, a small incision in the pubic area will be made to release the suspensory ligament above the penis, allowing the penis to extend further outside of the body while flaccid. To increase penis circumference, liposuction with fat transfer into the penis may be used, or a dermal wrap or allograft material may be placed under the skin. Dermal fillers have increasingly become a popular non-surgical alternative to increase the girth of the penis.
Following this procedure, your penis may be covered with dressings. Pain medication can help with any discomfort. Bruising and swelling may also occur. Depending on the procedure performed, men should avoid heaving lifting for one to two weeks, and refrain from sexual activity for four to six weeks for more invasive surgical procedures. It may take 3-6 months to see final results.
It is important to follow Dr. Sweat’s specific post-op instructions to ensure optimal results.
