What is Juvéderm Vollure®?
Juvéderm Vollure® is the newest addition to the Juvéderm collection of dermal fillers specifically designed to restore facial tissue volume loss. It is the first filler created to improve moderate to severe facial wrinkles, including parenthesis lines and laugh lines, which are the lines between the corners of the nose and mouth. As we age, we start to lose volume in our faces, but with the robust gel in Juvederm Vollure, we can restore that lost volume and look as young as we feel.
Other fillers in the Juvéderm collection, such as Juvéderm Ultra and Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, can be used in this area. However, they are indicated for less severe folds and wrinkles and do not last as long as Vollure.
Who is a Candidate?
A Juvéderm Vollure dermal filler candidate would be a patient with moderate to severe nasolabial folds, commonly called “parenthesis” lines. These lines run from the sides of the nose to the sides of the mouth and often get deeper with age. The severity of wrinkles and aging concerns will determine how many treatments a candidate will need for optimal results.
Vollure also works well for the lines below the corners of the mouth, angling toward the chin, known as “marionette” lines. This newer formula allows the patient to see slightly more correction while receiving longer-lasting results. However, swelling associated with the initial injection of the product can last slightly longer, possibly a few days or even a week longer.

The Procedure
Juvéderm Vollure XC treatments address deep wrinkles and folds, restore volume, and create a more youthful appearance. The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and tailored to each patient’s needs. This optimal treatment allows Dr. Sweat to target one or multiple areas based on each patient’s goals for a natural, balanced outcome.
All Juvéderm fillers are hyaluronic acid-based but differ on a molecular level. Juvéderm Vollure has a slightly firmer formula than Juvéderm Ultra XC, so it moves around less slowly and is absorbed by the body more slowly. The main benefit of Juvéderm Vollure is that it is proven to last up to 18 months.

Juvéderm Vollure XC is a versatile dermal filler designed to target moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Its advanced formula provides long-lasting results while maintaining natural facial expressions, making it a favorite for patients seeking a refreshed and youthful appearance.
The Results
Results will be evident immediately, but many patients experience moderate swelling and some temporary injection site redness. Bruising is also a common side effect of the product since it must be distributed over a large area to achieve full correction. Redness will fade over a few hours, but bruising and swelling can persist for several days to a week.
Be sure to tell Dr. Sweat or his personally trained injectors if you have been taking aspirin, similar NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), or blood thinners. To minimize the risk of bruising, it might be wise to avoid blood-thinning products for a week before the injection
Vollure is the longest-lasting dermal filler in the Juvederm line, but the visibility of results is determined by how much filler is used during one session. Once the swelling has reduced, it will look like a soft-focus filter has been put on the lines and folds around the mouth. Juvéderm Vollure has the perfect texture to allow natural movement and expression while staying in place. It will soften the appearance of any lines and wrinkles that were there and add subtle volume.
